My 19-Day Blind Ordeal: 'Express Shipping' Hell & The Company That Doesn't Care 😡
My terrible online shopping experience with this company has left me feeling utterly frustrated, and I feel compelled to share it as a cautionary tale. I ordered glasses on March 30th, needing them urgently because my old pair broke, so I paid for express 3-5 day shipping. What followed was a nightmare. Day 5 rolled around, and my order was still in production. Day 10, still in production. It became clear that this was a terrible company that didn't give a crap about its customers. On day 11, I finally called customer service, hoping to understand what was going on and to get a refund for the express shipping I clearly wasn't receiving. When I asked for the refund, the response almost felt routine, as if this happens all the time.
Customer: Hi, I'm calling about order number [order number]. I placed it on March 30th and paid for express 3-5 day shipping because my old glasses broke. It's now Day 11, and the status online still shows 'in production.' This is ridiculous. CS Rep: I understand your frustration, sir/ma'am. I'm very sorry to hear about the delay with your order. Let me pull up your details… Yes, I see it's still showing in production. I sincerely apologize for the missed shipping estimate and the inconvenience this has caused. Customer: Missed estimate? I paid extra for 3-5 day shipping, and it's been 11 days. I need these glasses, and I want a refund for the express shipping. This is terrible service. CS Rep: You are absolutely right, and I completely agree that this is not the experience we want for our customers. I can certainly process a full refund for the express shipping fee right away, which should appear back in your account within 3-5 business days. Customer: So I get my $10 back, great. But what about the glasses? When can I actually expect them? I’m essentially blind without them. The website still says they are 6 days out on delivery! CS Rep: I'm checking with our production team for an immediate update. It appears there was an unforeseen delay, but your order is now being prioritized. While I can't give you an exact new delivery date right this second, I will escalate this further and send you an email with a revised tracking estimate within 24 hours. Again, I am truly sorry.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap, because Day 19 or whatever, and I still have no glasses!!!
